Soccer blockbuster on Friday night

Some of world football's biggest names will grace the MCG on Friday June 9 in a powerhouse match-up between Brazil and Argentina.

The MCG match will see the two South American nations play in the SuperClasico de las Americas, an annual contest between the teams that has been staged since 2011.

For Lionel Messi, it will be the Argentinian star's first visit to the MCG since he destroyed the Socceroos as a 20-year-old in front of 70,171 fans in 2007.

Access to the Reserve

All categories of members and their guests will be able to access the MCC Members Reserve for this event.

However, as was the case at other special events in recent years, members will be required to pay a subsidised admission fee of $50 in order for their membership card to scan at Gate 2.

Note: 50-year and Honorary Life members do not need to purchase an entitlement for entry. Fifty-year members will have access to the John Landy Room and their reserved seating area on Level 2 in Bay N42.  Members will be able to introduce one guest into both areas.

View the Members Reserve seating plan.

Members of all categories can purchase visitor tickets at a cost of $115 (adults) and $60 (child aged 6-14).

Full and Restricted members can each purchase up to four visitor tickets, while the limit for Provisional members is two.

Members’ entry entitlements and visitor tickets are on sale at Ticketek here.

Provisional members

The Provisional member match classification is Category 4, meaning Provisional members will be able to purchase an entry entitlement for themselves and up to two visitor tickets for guests.

They will also be able to purchase reserved seating on levels 1 and 4, as well as access walk-up seating on levels 2 and 3.

The Members Dining Room and Jim Stynes Grill are both booked out.

A Main Event package is available in the Hans Ebeling Room. For bookings and details, please call (03) 9657 8888 during business hours.

All Long Room and Balcony passes have been issued.
