The MCG will host six matches of the tenth season of the KFC Big Bash League, including four home matches for the Melbourne Stars, following today’s release of the full BBL|10 fixture.
The MCG will host its first BBL|10 match on Friday January 15, when the Melbourne Stars take on the Adelaide Strikers under lights.Among the Stars’ fixture highlights at the MCG are a Melbourne Derby against the Renegades on Sunday January 17 and a rematch of the BBL|09 Final against the Sydney Sixers on Tuesday January 26.
The Stars v Sixers rematch on Australia Day, Tuesday January 26, will feature as part of a double-header at the MCG, with the Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes set to open proceedings on the hallowed turf at 4.10pm, in what is sure to be a great day out at the cricket.
Today’s fixture announcement completes the scheduling for BBL|10’s regular season, with details of the five-match finals series – to run Friday January 29-Sunday February 6 – still to be announced.
The fixture announcement follows extensive consultation between governments, clubs, venues and broadcast partners to ensure that the health and safety of participants and the broader community remains the top priority.
The Melbourne Cricket Club, as ground managers of the MCG, is committed to ensuring that matches operate in line with relevant Victorian Government COVID-19 guidelines so all patrons can experience the MCG in a safe way.
All matches will be available to watch on the Seven Network, Foxtel and Kayo Sports.
