Cricket fans attending the 2023 Boxing Day Test between Australia and Pakistan will have the opportunity to pay homage to Australian cricketing icon Shane Warne by wearing his favoured white floppy hat to the MCG, with fans also encouraged to take a free heart test in and around the venue.
Cricket Australia and the Shane Warne Legacy have united to increase awareness around heart health, with the introduction of Shane Warne Legacy Heart Tests, provided by SiSU Health, at this year’s Boxing Day Test from days one to four.
Fans are also encouraged to wear a floppy hat, paying homage to the look made iconic by Warne, as well as tipping their hat at 3.50pm each day – a nod to the Spin King’s Test cap number.
23 medical-grade Health Stations will be available to fans and members across seven locations around the MCG listed below:
- Outside Gate 3A
- Outside Gate 3B
- Outside Gate 1B
- Inside Gate 3 (behind the escalator)
- Inside Gate 1
- In the Betty Cuthbert Lounge (Olympic Stand, Level 2)
- Ron Casey Media Centre
Cricket legend Shane Warne passed away suddenly in March 2022, aged 52, from a suspected heart attack.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in men and a significant cause of death among women, with high blood pressure the leading global preventable risk factor for cardiovascular disease and stroke.
Tickets are available for all days of the Boxing Day Test and can be purchased via Ticketek.
