Reigning Premiers Richmond and the Geelong Cats will face off for the first time since the 2020 AFL Grand Final in a Friday night epic at the MCG, as the AFL announces the fixture for Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2021 AFL Premiership Season.

The MCG will host three matches in each round, including two Friday night blockbusters and mouthwatering ladder-topping match-ups.

The two rounds will give Gold Coast SUNS and West Coast Eagles fans the chance to see their teams in action at the MCG for the first time this season, as they play Collingwood and Hawthorn respectively.

As well as the blockbuster Grand Final rematch, Round 8 will also see the current second and third placed sides, Sydney Swans and Melbourne, do battle on Saturday May 8 under lights.
