The AFL has revealed Rounds 6 and 7 of the 2020 AFL Premiership Season fixture, with the MCG set to host five matches across two weekends.
The MCG will host a rematch between 2019 Grand Finalists Richmond and GWS GIANTS in Round 7, after the AFL revealed the next instalment of the 2020 AFL Premiership Season fixture.Round 6 will see Collingwood host the Brisbane Lions in a Friday night blockbuster on July 10, with Hawthorn set to host an in-form Gold Coast SUNS under lights on Saturday July 11. Carlton will round out the MCG's triple-header weekend against the Sydney Swans in an afternoon timeslot on Sunday July 12.
Melbourne will then host Western Bulldogs the following Saturday afternoon, July 18, before the 2019 Grand Final rematch between Richmond and GWS GIANTS on Sunday July 19.
The AFL has moved to release fixtures in small blocks in order to remain agile amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Following an extended break from competition after Round One, the 2020 season resumed at the MCG on June 11 with a dramatic draw between Collingwood and Richmond.
This week’s upcoming Round Four matches will see Essendon and Melbourne play their first games at the MCG for the 2020 season, with Essendon set to host Carlton in a Saturday night blockbuster and Melbourne to host the Geelong Cats on Sunday afternoon.
All matches will be broadcast on Channel 7, Fox Footy or the AFL Live App.
