AFL matches played at the MCG are assigned a category by the Club that determines match access for members, what areas can be entered and how many visitor tickets and Long Room or Balcony passes a member can obtain.
Following the first eight rounds of the 2022 season, the Club has undertaken a review of Members’ Reserve operations. Pleasingly, with the easing of health restrictions and our continual review of the associated operations, new access arrangements for members and visitors will be implemented from Round 12 onwards.
Please read the details below for information on visiting the Reserve for Rounds 9 to 11, followed by the updated Members’ Reserve operations for Rounds 12 to 15.
Member and ticketing arrangements for AFL Finals matches and the 2022 AFL Grand Final have yet to be confirmed. Management will continue to review the operations of the Reserve and this will be communicated to members in the coming months.
Members' Reserve Rounds 9-11Reserve on demand or walk up access matches
For all matches in rounds 9 to 11, seats will be made available to reserve on demand on a best available basis across all levels of the Members’ Reserve.
All remaining unallocated seats within the Reserve will be available for walk up on match day for members by scanning their membership card upon entry and for visitors with general admission visitor tickets. Please note, whilst a match may be categorised as allowing walk up access, reserved seats may sell out. As such, walk up access is subject to availability.
For such matches, reserved seats on each level will be released on demand on a best available basis.
Members will not be required to pay to reserve their seat for the 2022 AFL Premiership Season.
Note: members who obtain reserved seats for matches will have their membership card validated for entry and will need to scan their membership card at the Gate 2 turnstiles. Fully Ticketed matches
Matches where the attendance of members and visitors is expected to be near or reach capacity will be fully ticketed with no walk up opportunity for members. All members will be required to book a reserved seat for themselves and their visitors online via Ticketek to obtain entry. Please note
, there are no Fully Ticketed games
in rounds 9 to 11.
Members' Reserve Rounds 12-15
From Round 12, for all remaining home and away matches of the 2022 AFL Premiership Season, a dedicated amount of ‘Walk Up’ seating
will be available on all four levels of the Members’ Reserve.
Members will also be able to reserve a seat on Levels 1, 2 and 4 of the Reserve via Ticketek. Members will not be required to pay to reserve their own seat.
Members now have the flexibility of Walk Up seating on a match day or the ability to book a seat in advance. To view the Members’ Reserve seating map that will apply from Round 12, please click here.
At the start of the 2022 AFL Premiership Season, the ‘Fully Ticketed’ system for blockbuster games was introduced, where members were required to book a seat themselves and visitors in advance to obtain entry. Please note
, there will be no further Fully Ticketed games
for the remainder of the AFL home and away matches in 2022.
In line with the operations updates for rounds 12-15, updated match categories will also apply from round 12.
Matches have still been allocated in three categories in accordance with attendance estimates and expected demand of amenities by members, however, some of the access and entitlements for members have been updated.
