We’re excited to welcome members back into the Members’ Reserve for the 2021/22 Australian domestic cricket season.
The Members’ Reserve will be open to members, their guests and non-members for the upcoming Sheffield Shield match – Victoria v New South Wales.The MCG, in line with the Victorian Government’s 80 per cent vaccination roadmap, will welcome a capacity of up to 5,000 fully-vaccinated attendees per day of the upcoming Sheffield Shield match.
The Melbourne Cricket Club, manager of the MCG, Cricket Victoria and the Victorian Government are committed to protecting the wellbeing of members, their guests and non-members fans attending this Sheffield Shield fixture.

Crowd Capacity
Under the Victorian Government’s 80 per cent vaccination roadmap, the Members’ Reserve will welcome a capacity of up to 5,000 fully-vaccinated attendees per day of the upcoming Sheffield Shield match.COVID-19 Vaccination Condition of Entry
In line with the Victorian Government health directives for this Sheffield Shield match, the MCG will only be accessible by to fully vaccinated patrons (over the age of 16).Children under 16 years old do not need to be vaccinated but must be accompanied by fully vaccinated adults.
Unvaccinated patrons will not be permitted to enter the MCG, unless they are able to display a valid immunisation medical exemption provided by a Victorian Government-approved health professional.
As patrons arrive at the Gate, they are asked to bring up their COVID-19 digital certificate to display to match day staff at the entrance gate in one of two ways:
- Scan the QR code outside the entrance gate using the Services Victoria App on your smart device
- Show their COVID-19 digital certificate in the same smart wallet on their device, that houses their digital ticket from Ticketek
For patrons without a smart device, they will be required to provide a printed version of the COVID-19 digital certificate or Immunisation History statement, which can be used as evidence of vaccination.
Tickets
Tickets for days one, two and three of this Sheffield Shield match will go on sale at 5.00pm AEDT on Monday November 1. Tickets for day four will become available on Sunday November 7.Tickets will be available for purchase via Ticketek.
Members are permitted to purchase public tickets for guests.
Members will be required to scan into the Members’ Reserve using their membership card.
The Ticketek issued digital ticket will be used by event staff to direct you to the correct seat.
If patrons have purchased tickets on behalf of others, they will need to forward tickets to the individuals attending within their group.
All attendees will be required to check-in outside of Gate 2, using the displayed QR code via the Service Victoria app. The Service Victoria app is available to download from the Apple Store or on Google Play.
Entry Gate
Entry is via Gate 2 only for all attendees to assist the Club in capacity management and contact tracing.Seating
Upon ticket purchase, you will be allocated a section, row and seat within the Members’ Reserve on a digital ticket sent by Ticketek.Access to seating on Level 1, 2 and 3 will be available to all patrons, while several premium bays on Level 2 have been set aside exclusively for members to obtain tickets in. Toilet facilities on B1 will be in operation.
Under the Club’s endorsed COVIDSafe event plan, patrons will be appropriately distanced within the MCC Members’ Reserve arena seating in accordance with section, row and seat displayed on their digital ticket.
Before arriving at the MCG
We encourage all members and their guests and non-members to do the following, as part of their preparation if they plan to attend:- Make sure you pack your debit, credit or MCCPlus+ card as the MCG will operate as a cashless venue.
- Patrons are required to wear a fitted face mask at all times within the MCG, except for when sitting in their reserved seat.
- Come prepared for all types of weather conditions, including packing a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and a poncho or a raincoat.
- Only bags that must fit under seat, will be permitted. There will be no cloaking facilities at the MCG.
Parking and Transport
Yarra Park will not be open for this event.As such, we encourage all attendees to arrange their own transport or ride-sharing arrangements:
- Train: Jolimont or Richmond Station
- Tram: No. 75, No. 48
Food and Beverages
A restricted number of dining room and bars will be open during the Sheffield Shield and One-Day Cup matches for a mix of seated dwelling and takeaway service.Venue | Location | Service | Restriction |

Patrons will be permitted to eat or drink only either in their assigned seats or when seated in indoor dining venues. Patrons will be permitted to consume takeaway alcohol in their assigned seats.
Patrons will be required to scan the QR codes to prior to entering the indoor dining venues.
Patrons will be required to wear a face mask while inside indoor dining venues. Face masks are permitted to be removed when seated indoors.
There will be no bookings for Hugh Trumble Café and the Long Room, walk-up service only.
COVIDSafe Measures
Please play your role in being COVIDSafe, and following these simple directions:- Clean hands. Please remember to wash or sanitise your hands regularly, using one of the MCG’s installed 275 Dettol hand sanitisation stations throughout the Ground.
- Know when it’s time to bow out. Feel unwell or have cold symptoms? Then please stay at home.
- Protect the head. Please wear a fitted face mask at all times, unless seated in your reserved seat.
- Stay at least a couple of cricket bat’s length apart. For good measure, please stay 1.5 metres from one another.
At the MCG
The Members’ Reserve, accessible via the Cordner Entrance at Gate 2, will operate as its own zone (Zone 2).Members and their guests will not be able to move to other parts of the MCG once they have entered the Members’ Reserve zone.
Please note: The Australian Sports Museum, The Paddock Café and the MCG Shop will be closed.
