MCC Reserve Gate 2: 7.00am

The nation’s premier running event, the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival, returns Sunday October 2.

Race Day is this Sunday! With the Half Marathon SOLD OUT and only limited capacities remaining on all other distances, the atmosphere promises to be electric. Register now at melbournemarathon.com.au.

Marking the 44th instalment of the historic sporting event, athletes of all ages, abilities and experience levels will take part in six distances, each starting at Batman Avenue and finishing with a lap of the iconic MCG. Events include the Nike Melbourne Marathon (42.195km), Nike Wheelchair Marathon (42.195km), Nike Half Marathon (21.1km), 10km Run, 5km Run and 3km Walk. Whether race-goers are embarking on their first marathon, looking to smash a personal best, or are simply seeking a springtime walk with the family, there’s a place for everyone at the start line.

The Melbourne Cricket Club looks forward to welcoming Melbourne Marathon participants to the MCG on Sunday October 2.

Spectator access

Gate 2 will open from 7.00am. Gate 3 will open from 8.30am.

Parking

General public parking in Yarra Park is available via Gate 5 from 4.00am. For further information click here.

Metro Trains Planned Disruptions

Buses replace trains on sections of the Mernda, Hurstbridge, Cranbourne, Pakenham, Sandringham and Sunbury lines this Sunday.
  • Passengers should allow extra time when travelling to and from the MCG.
  • Please be aware that there may be increased congestion and delays at Richmond and Jolimont stations.
  • Passengers are advised to return to where they got off the bus prior to the event.

At the 'G

  • All food and beverage outlets will be cashless – so all transactions will need to be made on your debit, credit or MCC Plus membership card.
  • The MCG is a smoke, e-cigarette and vape free venue. Patrons found smoking or vaping inside the Ground will face immediate eviction and could face further disciplinary action by the Club.
  • The MCG’s official hygiene partner, Dettol, has installed 275 hand sanitisation stations throughout the Ground to support good personal hygiene practices.
  • At the MCG, your safety is our priority. If you experience any form of antisocial behaviour, please report it via the MCG's antisocial text hotline on +61 409 117 621.
