The Club is delighted to welcome Scott Pickett as this year’s Celebrity Chef.

Date: Thursday 13 July
Location: Long Room
Time: 6:45pm for 7:30pm
Dress code: Jacket and tie, equivalent standard for women

Scott Pickett is one of Melbourne’s most exciting chefs. At a young age, Scott developed a fascination for produce while growing up on his family’s farm in Kangarilla. This hands-on lifestyle allowed him to grow and nurture his talent, and soon he began working as an apprentice chef in South Australia.

After honing his skills in some of London’s most rigorous Michelin-starred kitchens, Pickett returned from Europe to Australia in 2004, drawn to Melbourne’s burgeoning restaurant scene and establishing himself as one of the city’s pre-eminent head chefs. In 2005 he was selected to represent Australia at the prestigious Bocuse d’Or – achieving Australia’s highest-ranking at that time and today acting as a mentor for the biennial worldwide chef championship.

Pickett opened his first restaurant Estelle Bar & Kitchen in 2011 and since then, there has been no turning back. The launch of the Scott Pickett Group brand now sees eleven establishments dominating the Melbourne hospitality scene; Estelle, Matilda, Chancery Lane, Le Shoppe, Smith St Bistrot, Longrain, Longsong, Pickett’s Deli, Scott Pickett Events, Audrey’s and The Continental Sorrento.

Scott Pickett is the essence of Australian hospitality. His generosity of spirit and abundant personality is at the core of his establishments. His understanding of seasonality and respect for Australian growers and producers is testament to his origins.

The function will be held on Thursday July 13 and will include a tailored sit down menu and beverages in the prestigious Long Room. Bookings will open at 9.00am on Tuesday 6 June with members of all categories are permitted to bring up to three guests each.
