The MCC Library is celebrating its 150th birthday, and you're invited! The MCC’s heritage collections were founded on September 6, 1873 with the donation of 13 volumes of the Australasian newspaper – the beginning of the MCC Library.
Since then, the collection has grown to over one million items, with 119 different sports represented across the books, periodicals, newspapers, programmes, ephemera, microfilms, e-publications, videotapes, DVDs and CD-roms.
The MCC Library collection is among the best and most comprehensive sport-related collections in the world. With items from the 1600s to today, the Library is a major repository for information on sport, and is used widely by members, researchers, media and sport-enthusiasts.
Join the MCC Librarians - both past and present - and celebrate the impact and the legacy of the MCC Library in its 150th year.
