MCC Drop In Dinner

Celebrate the beginning of the 2025/26 summer of cricket with the Melbourne Cricket Club on Thursday October 2 at The Drop-In Dinner.

In this new MCC function, cricket fans and pitch enthusiasts will gather to herald the change of sporting codes at the 'G.

Renowned commentator and broadcaster Tim Lane will host the evening where members and guests will hear from MCC Executive Manager of Turf, Matthew Page, as he provides insights on transforming the arena from AFL to cricket and the process his team goes through to drop in the MCG's wickets.

Former Australian cricketer and cricket analyst Brad Hodge will also join in the proceedings with tales from his storied career.

Enjoy a two course sit-down meal in the Committee Room followed by a dessert in the Long Room while you watch the MCG Arenas Team drop the wickets in live. A four-hour beverage package will also be available.

Dress code: A lounge suit or tailored jacket, shirt, tie, slacks (tailored chinos are acceptable) and dress shoes, or attire of a similar high standard.
Cost: Members: $165 | Guests: $175

This function is open to members of all categories who may bring five (5) guests. There are limited spots available so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Bookings for this function open at 9.00am AEST on Thursday August 21 and will be taken on a first-in, first-served basis. Bookings will close at 5.00pm on Thursday September 25 unless sold out prior.
