Young members' cricket match v XXIX Club

Calling all young members who want to play cricket and represent the club at our newest sports venue!

The MCC Young Members Club is forming a team to play a cricket match against the MCC‘s social cricket arm, the XXIX Club, on Sunday December 16 at Beaumaris Secondary College.

We are looking for expressions of interest from MCC members who would be keen to play a game of cricket and meet other young members.

The young members are looking for anyone interested in playing, umpiring, scoring, or team managing.

In true MCC and XXIX Club spirit, there will be a healthy post-match social event that will provide a great chance for you to mingle with your teammates and opposition. Members can partake in the social activity even if they’re not playing in the match.

And if you think your cricket skills are a bit rusty, we’ll be planning a training session at the MCG prior to the big day on Tuesday November 20 to dust off any cobwebs.

If this opportunity sounds like it is for you, please email your expression of interest before Friday November 16.

Please outline any recent cricket experience you have - including whether you specialise as a batsman, bowler, wicketkeeper or allrounder – or whether you or someone you know wishes to assist in non-playing roles such as scorer, umpire or team manager.

Please note: Members must be available for both the training session and the match to be considered eligible for selection.

This is a great chance to play in first-class conditions and learn more about MCC cricket.
