Club functions to resume


The Melbourne Cricket Club looks forward to welcoming members and their guests to a range of Club functions this August and beyond.

Bookings are now open for events hosted by the MCC Young Members and more with further events to be added to the calendar in the coming weeks.

Plus, the annual Bradman Luncheon, Christmas Day at the ‘G, Brownlow Dinner and Culinary Centre Experience events return in 2021.

BRADMAN LUNCHEON

Bookings are now open for the 20th annual Bradman Luncheon to be held on Thursday August 26, 2021.

The Club is delighted to announce Brad Hodge as this year’s guest speaker while renowned Melbourne journalist Gerard Whateley will join as host for the evening. This night is a must-attend for all cricket enthusiasts.

Members of all categories permitted to bring up to nine (9) guests and we encourage members to book early so as to avoid missing out. Book now.

YOUNG MEMBERS GIN APPRECIATION NIGHT

The MCC Young Members are delighted to announce the Gin Appreciation night will return on Friday August 27, 2021.

Held in the Frank Grey Smith Bar, MCC Librarian David Studham will host a Q&A canvassing all things gin with a number of Australian distilleries including Animus, Melbourne Gin Company, Little Lon Distilling Co and more.

The Q&A will be followed by gin tasting which allows Young Members and their guests to interact with the distillery representatives while sampling the range of gin on offer. Canapes will be served throughout the night.

This function is open to MCC Young Members (aged 18-40) and their guests (aged 18-40). Young Members may bring up to two guests each.

MEMBERS’ CULINARY CENTRE EXPERIENCE

Don’t miss out on your chance to experience the amazing behind-the-scenes workings of the MCG Culinary Centre on Wednesday September 8. The dinner gives members intimate access to Epicure’s catering heartbeat at the ‘G, along with the joy of experiencing an incredible 3-course tailored dinner and beverages.

The function is open to members of all categories, with the option to bring up to one (1) guest each with bookings to open at 9.00am on Tuesday August 10. Numbers are limited so book in early to avoid disappointment. Find out more

BROWNLOW DINNER WITH THE COODABEENS

They’re back! Don’t miss out on the 15th Brownlow Dinner with the Coodabeens on Monday September 20 and celebrate all things AFL 2021.

After missing last year’s function, the Coodabeens are delighted to be back in the Members Reserve and ready to host a fabulous night of entertainment, great food and live updates of the Brownlow Medal count.

Due to popular demand, a ballot will be conducted with the function open to Full and Restricted members who may book in up to two (2) guests each. The ballot will open at 9.00am Tuesday August 3 and close at 5.00pm Friday August 6 – make sure you mark your diary and register to avoid disappointment.

Members will be notified of their success or otherwise on Tuesday August 10. Please note that credit cards will only be charged for those members successful in the ballot. Find out more.

CHRISTMAS DAY AT THE ‘G

Spoil your family this Christmas and leave all the cooking and festive duties to Epicure while you enjoy all the traditional Christmas trimmings.

Enjoy a delicious three-course lunch with a plated entrée, choice of two plated main course dishes and a spectacular Epicure dessert table. The beverage package includes beer, wine, sparkling and soft drinks.

Bookings for the Members Dining Room are now open. If you wish to sit with other family members, please book in together. Should the Members Dining Room reach capacity, the Long Room will subsequently open for bookings.
