Update: Round 16 AFL fixtures revealed, extra game added


Update: The MCG will now host three games in Round 16 of the 2021 AFL Premiership Season, after the Fremantle v Carlton match was relocated from Optus Stadium.

On Saturday, The MCG will host a VFL/AFL double-header for the first time since 1986. Melbourne will tackle GWS GIANTS on Saturday July 3 at 1.45pm, which will then be followed by Fremantle taking on Carlton, that match commencing at 7.40pm.

Sunday afternoon football sees Collingwood take on St Kilda on Sunday July 4 at 3.20pm.

Tickets for the Melbourne v GWS GIANTS and Collingwood v St Kilda matches went on-sale to members at 3.00pm AEST, Wednesday June 30.

Tickets to the Fremantle v Carlton match will go on-sale to members from 12.00pm AEST , Friday July 2.

In line with the AFL's and the MCC’s endorsed COVIDSafe Event Plan, the two matches at the MCG on Saturday July 3 will be ticketed separately. Members wishing to attend both matches will need to reserve a separate ticket for each match for themselves and purchase visitor tickets for their guests.

Furthermore, all members and patrons in attendance for the Melbourne v GWS GIANTS match will be required to depart the MCG by 5.00pm in order for the venue to undergo cleaning ahead of the second match.
