Mat McBriar is a former American Football punter in the National Football League.Playing for the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers across his 11-year career.
During his time with the Cowboys from 2003 to 2011, McBriar was at the top of his game. He was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week twice, and became the second ever Australian player to be selected to the Pro Bowl.
In 2006, he registered a 75-yeard punt, which was the second longest in Cowboys’ history. That same year his league-leading 48.2 yards-per-punt average made him the first player to average over 48 yards-per-punt since 1963, and saw him tied in fifth best in NFL history.
