The MCG's 2023/24 summer of cricket has been confirmed - with cricket fans treated to a number of domestic and international matches at the Ground.
The cricket season begins with two Sheffield Shield matches - which sees Victoria take on New South Wales from October 26, before hosting Queensland from November 16.Information regarding match access for the two Sheffield Shield matches will be communicated closer to the event.
Just over one week later, on Saturday November 25, the MCG will host the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) Melbourne derby. For the first time the MCG will host Melbourne Stars vs Melbourne Renegades as a stand-alone regular season.
The MCG hosts its first men's Big Bash League (BBL) match of the season on Wednesday December 13, with the Melbourne Stars taking on the reigning premiers - the Perth Scorchers.
The new-look, condensed BBL season will see four matches held at the MCG - headlined by the Melbourne derby between the Stars and Melbourne Renegades on January 2. The Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes make-up the final two BBL matches of the regular season at the MCG.
On the international stage, the traditional Boxing Day Test will be played between Australia and Pakistan - the first time Pakistan have played a Test match at the MCG since 2016.
Then, in February 2024, the MCG will host the opening match of the Dettol ODI series between Australia and the West Indies. The day/night event will kick-start the three match series before the two teams continue to Sydney and Canberra.
MCC reserved seat and visitor tickets will be available from 10.00am Wednesday October 11, with additional information to be communicated to members closer to the date.
