Member Arrangements: State of Origin returns to the MCG


Australia’s greatest sporting rivalry, between Queensland and New South Wales, returns to the MCG when Game Two of Rugby League’s Ampol State of Origin Series is played on Wednesday June 26.



MCC members can access exclusive member upgrade tickets for themselves and up to four tickets for visitors.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said Melbourne would once again be central to the best sporting rivalry in Australia.

State of Origin has had some amazing moments in Melbourne, from the first game held at the MCG in 1994, right up until the last game in 2018,” Mr Abdo said.

State of Origin is the biggest rivalry in Australian sport and to be able to play at the iconic MCG is a great opportunity for fans as we all eagerly await another captivating series in 2024.”

MCC members and their guests will have access to tickets on all levels of the Members’ Reserve.

This is a fully ticketed event. Unreserved seating will not be available for members.

Members booking reserved seats will have their membership card validated for entry at the turnstiles.

Members will be able to book dining in the Members' Dining Room and Ponsford Lounge for this event. Reserved seats will not be included as part of any members’ dining packages.

Further details on dining registrations and Long Room passes for guests will be communicated to members in due course.

Rugby league was first played at the MCG in 1914, with a New South Wales team playing England.

The first State of Origin match at the MCG was played on June 8, 1994, attracting a then record league crowd in Australia of 87,161. The MCG then hosted State of Origin Game Game Two in 2015 in front of a record 91,513 fans and last hosted a match in 2018 with Game One when 87,122 fans cheered on New South Wales to victory.
