Ballot result to determine Motion 2 - Governance

Dear members,

At the Club’s 188th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 12, 2025, the Committee proposed changes to the Club Rules to bring them in line with contemporary practices, processes and language.

Grouping together changes into themes, the Committee presented three motions – Motion 1 - Administrative Updates, Motion 2 - Governance Updates and Motion 3 - Integrity Updates.

All three motions presented at the AGM were voted in favour of being enshrined into the Club Rules. In accordance with the Club Rules, a member proposed that only Motion 2 – Governance Updates be presented to the Full membership for consideration through a post meeting ballot process and more than 30 members supported this occurring.

The Club engaged independent voting services provider, CorpVote, to facilitate the ballot process with Tim Jones of CorpVote appointed as the Returning Officer.

The voting period concluded at 5.00pm AEST on Friday September 5, 2025, and CorpVote has now provided the Club with the ballot results.

CorpVote has confirmed from a total of 8,892 votes received, the results are as follows:
  • For – 88.3%
  • Against – 11.7%

In accordance with rule 10.6 (g), as the motion has now been supported by more than 50 per cent of the votes received, the proposed changes contained in Motion 2 – Governance Updates have now been adopted into the Club Rules. Details of what Motion 2 – Governance Updates contained is available here.

The most up-to-date version of the Club Rules can be found here.

Thank you to members for their participation in the voting process at both the Annual General Meeting and the ballot.

Kind regards,

Stuart Fox
