Clubs rename for Sir Doug Nicholls Round
The AFL celebrates Sir Doug Nicholls Round across Rounds 10 and 11 of the 2023 AFL Premiership Season. Across Sir Doug Nicholls Round, both Melbourne (Narrm) and Fremantle (Walyalup) will swap their club name for traditional in-language names.
Narrm (pronounced na-arm) is the traditional name for Melbourne, coming from Woi Wurrung language.
Walyalup (pronounced wul-yul-up) is the Noongar name for the Fremantle region.

From 12.30pm to 2.30pm on Saturday May 27, visit the Narrm Market Stalls on the external concourse between Gates 2 and 3.
Arrive early
To ensure you are inside the Ground in time for the match start, arrive early and leave plenty of time for the entry process.
If you have reserved a seat, download your seat ticket prior to your arrival. To gain entry into the match, scan your physical or digital membership card at the turnstiles.
Members' Dining
The registration period for the Members' Dining Room, Lucy Liu Lounge, Jim Stynes Grill and Committee Room by Grossi for this event will open at 9.00am AEST on Monday May 15 and close at 5.00pm on the following day.
Long Room & Balcony Passes
The registration period for Long Room and Balcony Passes for this event will open at 9.00am AEST on Monday May 15 and close at 5.00pm on the following Tuesday or until all passes are exhausted.
Walk up passes can be collected (on a first come, first serve basis) from the last two Membership Services windows to the far left outside of Gate 2 on match day.
Additional dining options
MCC members and their guests can access a range of additional dining facilities in the MCC Members’ Reserve on match days at the MCG with no booking required.

Parking in Yarra Park is subject to capacity. The MCG encourages patrons to arrive early and allow plenty of time to ensure you are inside the ground for the match start. Parking gates will close at the conclusion of the first quarter, unless capacity is reached prior.

here, subject to capacity.
Road closures
Road closures will occur on Brunton Avenue from 12.40pm until 2.10pm and from 4.40pm to 5.40pm.
Road and Train Disruptions
Buses replace trains on sections of the following train lines this weekend:- Cranbourne
- Pakenham
- Frankston
- Stony Point
- Sunbury
- Gippsland (V/Line)
- Ballarat
- Ararat
- Maryborough
Passengers on these lines should:- allow extra time when travelling to and from the MCG.
- be aware after games there may be increased congestion and delays getting onto the platforms at Richmond and Jolimont stations.
- to catch a return bus post-match, return to where they got off the bus prior.

Footscray Road will also be closed for traffic eastbound.
The G-Train Mobility Shuttle Service
The G-Train Mobility Shuttle Service operates during public events held at the MCG.
The service is free and accessible to patrons with mobility challenges. The G-Train also features vehicles with wheelchair-friendly access.
Pre-booking is not required; simply wait at a designated pick up point for the next available buggy. The service has pick up points from the following locations:- Richmond Station
- Jolimont Station
- Accessible Parking Area
The 'G Train will operate from 11.30am until 5.45pm for this event.
